TOUGH WEEKEND AT NÜRBURGRING

A tough weekend for the Harms Benjan Racing Team ended with disappointment as Robbin Harms crashed but managed to pull the bike up again and ride home a 11th position.

The team had big problems finding the right setup on Robbins bike. Sunday the team still struggled in thensecond free practice but in the second qualification they managed to find a setup that made it possible for Robbin to set a good enough time to start on the 3th starting grid as 11th.

In the race Robbins gearbox caused him a lot of trouble which also made it difficult for him to get a good start as the Danish rider is known for. At the first corner he was hold up and was placed as 12th on the first lap. Robbin gained some positions quickly and was in the group for 8th place but he was fighting with lack of rear tire grip which almost made him crash. But his biggest problem was the gearbox which made him run wide and crash. Luckily Robbin was able to pick up his bike and finishing as 11th in the race.

For Bastien this was one of the toughest weekends since he changed to the SuperSport Championship. Bastian and his mechanics also had problems finding the right setup on the bike. In the second qualifying Bastien felt he had a bike he could make a good result on and finished the qualification as 20 on the starting grid.

In the race Bastien managed to climb to a 17th position but crashed after five laps.

Robbin is still 6th in the overall World SuperSport Championship.

Robbin Harms, 11th position:
A very strange weekend is finished now. Everybody worked hard to find the solution but we never came close enough. It was difficult for me race the bike like the last couple of races. In the race I was struggling with technical problems which made me crash. I am happy that I finished the race and took some points. Now Nurburgring is behind me and I am looking forward to Imola and Magny Coure.

Bastien Chesaux, DNF:
“This weekend has been one of the most difficult since the beginning of the season. The track was not easy for me and I never felt good on it. However, the team did an amazing work. Thanks to them, I learned so much this race. I’m sorry for the final result.”

Resultat, Supersport VM, 11. afd. Nürburgring, Tyskland, 5. september 2010:

1. E. Laverty (IRL), Honda CBR600RR, 37m52,893s
2. K. Sofuoglu (TUR), Honda CBR600RR, +5,072s
3. B. Parkes (AUS), Kawasaki ZX-6R, +15,890s

5. C. Davis (GBR), Triumph Daytona 675, +28,380s
6. D. Salom (ESP), Triumph Daytona 675, +28,495s
11. R. Harms (DEN), Honda CBR600RR, +1m24,011s

VM stillingen efter 11. afdeling:

1. K. Sofuoglu (TUR), 233 pts.

BEST RESULT OF THE SEASON, UNTIL NOW

Silverstone with its new layout that almost reach six km. was a new challenge for Team Harms Benjan Racing. To find the right setup on the bikes was not easy because the track was not similar to any other in calendar.

After Fridays sessions Bastien and Robbin got to know the track and the team got some feedback from the riders and the data.

On Saturday it was a wet practice in the free session but the track dried up to the final qualifying. Bastien made it to 22nd on the starting grid. Robbin had improved his setup and made it to 5th. Place starting on the second row.

Sunday – Race day.
In Warm up Robbins engine suffered a technical failure and the team was forced to start the race with a spare engine. Unfortunately that engine also had a technical failure on the Sight Seeing lap to the race. Robbin then had to rush back to his box and start the race on his spare bike from the last starting position on the 7th row.

Because of a crash on the first lap the race was red flagged. That gave the team the chance to repair Robbins no. 1 bike and make it ready for restart. Still the bike was a kind of new for him since he never had ridden it with the new spare engine.

After restart both riders got a good start. Robbin hold 3rd place on the first lap and Bastien was 18th. Robbin then latter settled to 4th place for a long time racing lap times faster than the Pole position time. At the end the race he was joined by Chaz Davies fighting for 4th position. Robbin passed him on the last lap but ran to wide and finished as 5th but Robbin had closed the gap to the riders in front of him on the last laps and finished less that 2 seconds from 3rd place. Best result of the season until now.

Bastien made a good progress in the race overtaking several riders and finished as 16th after Fujiwara. Bastien felt that it was his best race this season and that he improved his riding style on his Honda.

Robbin:
Yes I am happy with my fifth place but at the same time also a little disappointed that I had to start the race with a new engine. The first part of the race felt like I was racing on somebody else bike, it was a complete stranger to me, but after a few laps I found my rhythm and the engine was not so bad. Unfortunately it was too late because I lost the contact to the front group. I had a good pace in the race making consistent lap times. At the end of the race I battled with Davies and passed him on the last lap but I ran a little wide and finished 5th.

The World Superbike/Supersport takes a vacation now in one month and will be back at Nürburgring in Germany the 5th of September.

Robbin Harms i Supersport VM:

Resultat, Supersport VM, 10. afd. Silverstone (Storbritanien)
1. E. Laverty (IRL) Honda CBR600RR 34m35,068s
2. K. Sofuoglu (TUR) Honda CBR600RR +0,220s
3. G. Rae (GBR) Honda CBR600RR +12,451s
4. C. Davies (GBR) Triumph Daytona 675 +13,683s
5. R. Harms (DEN) Honda CBR600RR +13,839s
6. M. Praia (POR) Honda CBR600RR +15,699s

FAMILIAR TRACK IN BRNO

This weekend the Harms Benjan racing team was at the Brno circuit in Czech Republic. Friday Robbin shoved that he was familiar with the track and had a lot of knowledge on how to ride fast, when he finished 2nd fastest in the first free practice.

In the qualifications Robbin managed to ride a time that qualified him to a 9th position on the Sunday’s race. He wanted to push the bike to second starting grid but an electrical problem stopped Robbin from riding the last 20 minutes of the qualification where he dropped from 7th To 9th position.

Bastien who likes the track and have been here a couple of times before kept advancing his times the whole weekend and was after the second qualification 16th on the starting grid that this time was as big as 24 riders.

Sunday Race

Bastien did a very good start in the race and was quickly up as number 13th. He had a lot of good fights and really pushed hard still suffering from a troubled knee after a crash earlier this weekend. Sadly he didn’t get to finish the race crashing on the last lap. This weekend Bastien really proved he is starting too evolved as a 4- stroke rider.

Robbin pushed his bike to a 6th position and quickly he pooled away from the riders behind him. He managed to keep contact with the front group in the first laps but was struggling with lack of rear grip in the exits which made it impossible to keep the contact. The rest of the race Robbin rode a lonesome 6th place home with 6 seconds to 7th place. This is third time Robbins finish sixth this season which also leaves him 6th in the Championship as best private rider and 1 point from 5th position.

Next race is at Silverstone Great Britain the 1st of August.

BEST RESULT OF THE SEASON, 6TH AT MISANO

A great weekend for the Harms Benjan Racing Team ended perfect as Robbin Harms took home a 6th position after he had a long fight for 4th.

The team quickly found a good setup on Robbins bike and the qualifying went well both Friday and Saturday with good consistent lap times. Because of that Robbin started 9th on the starting grid but in the first lap of the race he dropped one position. Quickly Robbin fought his way back and after 5 laps was he already 6th. He pushed a few laps more and was 4th and fighting to stay there. Robbin crossed the finish line on 6th position and both Robbin and the Team are very proud of the result.

For Bastien many of the tracks in the SuperSport calendar are new but Misano is known for Bastien from the GP and therefore he didn’t need to use a lot of the practice to get to know the track. The mechanics found a good set up and Bastien was starting on a 18th on the grid. In the race he was fighting with his tiers, which quickly were worn down and he had trouble keeping the speed. Still Bastien managed to get inside the points finishing 15 at the end of the race.

Robbin is now 6th in the overall World SuperSport Championship.

Robbin Harms, 6th position:
“This weekend has been great. The Team and I have worked really well with the setup and kept improving. In the race I was strong. Once I found my rhythm in the first laps I started to pass the riders in front of me, a great feeling. I was trying to keep my 4th place but missed some bike power so at the end I am happy with my second 6th place this season.”

Bastien Chesaux, 15th position:
This has been the best race since the beginning of the season, many times was I able to fight with other good riders. I also had a better feeling with the bike, we improved a lot. In the race my start was ok but after some laps my rear tire disturbed me a lot at each braking time. I’m sure I would have done a lot better without that problem, but that’s racing. Anyway I’m very happy with our work this weekend and I’m confident for the next races and I’m looking forward to Brno.”

Next race will be in Brno the 11th of July.

Resultat, Supersport VM, 8. afd. Misano Adriatico. 27. juni 2010:

ROBBIN: "I DIDN'T HAVE THE POWER I NEEDED"

After a weekend with ups and downs it turned out great for the Harms Benjan Racing Team. Robbin was on a 9th position on the starting grid and managed to make one of his good starts and was up in 6th position after just 2 laps. Here he was in the battle for 4th but with lack of power in the engine and missing some of the top speed he managed to push home an 8th position in the end.

The reason he didn’t have the power he needed was because his nr. 1and 2 engines broke down Saturday and Sunday leaving him with the teams spare engine in the race. Anyhow he managed to push the bike hard and steady and ride it home to yet another great position with good points to the championship standings.

Bastian also did a good and steady race with lots of similar lap times. He managed to hang on to the rider in front of him for a long time and pushed himself and the bike. At the end of the race he was in 17th position where he finished. A good result for Bastien on a new track he never has raced on before.

Robbin Harms:
“Yes this race at Miller Park was hard because I was struggling to hang on the group in front of me. I really missed some engine power today so I pushed the bike over the limit every single lap in and out of the corner to keep contact with the group in front of me. I think the team and I made a good performance today and got the best out of the situation. 8th. Is not what I aimed for but looking back at the trouble we have had this week it’s a good result. “

Bastien Chesaux:
“This morning we tried a new setting that was harder than what I’m used to. It was a big step for me and I like it very much. We are heading the right way and I am still learning. I had a good start in the race and took some positions, after some laps a couple of riders passed me but I am happy for the outcome. I also want to say thanks to my mechanics and the team. ”

Jan Breedveld, chief mechanic:
“Saturday Robbin did very good sadly we had some technical problems on Sunday but we made a good bike for second qualification and Robbin managed to get a good starting position. For the race he didv ery well and I’m happy. Bastian also did well, it’s a new track for him and he still has a lot to learn.”

OVERSEAS ENGINE PROBLEMS

The team has traveled overseas to the United States of America and are now located on the stunning Miller park circuit near Salt Lake City. The altitude are the same as Kyalami 1496 km above the sea level and the degrees are around 26 with clear blue sky.

Because of the Memorial Day the weekend has been pushed and the race will be held on Monday the 31 of May around 00:30 European time.

The first day was therefore Saturday and it went well for both riders. Bastien who has never been here before improved his times on every lap and was faster than the wildcards. Robbin felt well on his bike and was in 5th position after first qualification. Unfortunately his engine brooked down with 10 minutes left leaving him to use his spare bike the day after.

Sunday didn’t start as good as the day before. Robbin’s spare engine had a technical failure. With 2 broken engines Robbin has to use the team’s spare engine which does not have the same power as the previous one. But despite less top speed he managed to improve his time and finished just outside top 8 as No. 9 in the qualification.

Robbin Harms:
“Tough days with the best engines ruled out of the game. It gave me some challenges and I had to push hard. I am sad that I missed the second row on the starting grid, but satisfied with my performance improving my times and making consistent times. I feel ready for the race and hope to get the best out of my bike. “

TECHNICAL FAILURE FORCED ROBBIN TO SLOW DOWN

This has been a great weekend for the Team. But sadly a technical failure kept Robbin from taking a 5th position in the world SuperSport Championship. The team made a lot of progress Friday and Saturday with testing different setups and finding good solutions for both Robbin and Bastien.

Robbin had the 5th fastest time this morning and was really looking forward to the race. Starting from 10th position he made yet another great start and had in the first corner already overtaken 4 riders. Quickly he was up as number 5 and hold the position almost trough the entire race. Unfortunately with only 3 laps to go a technical default with the bike made it difficult to control the gas throttle and were most riders would have given up and enter pit Robbin fought trough and landed on a 8th position.

Bastian did a good race and actually made his fasted lap this weekend in the race. This means that he is still developing as a 600cc rider in the right direction. He fought to stay whit Praia the most of the race and was nr. 14 over the finish line scoring 2 points.

Robbin Harms:
Finnish 5th this morning made me feel even more ready for the race where i wished to fight for a top 5 finish. In the race I was struggling on the first laps to get grip and lost a little time to the podium positions. After a couple of laps I found my rhythm and was placed on a solid 5th place. With 8 laps to go I’ve felt something was wrong with the front steering on the throttle side and with 3 laps to go I was forced to slow down and lost my top 5 finish. I am really sorry about the problem because today was one of my best. To finish on 8th place was not my intention but I had no other choice. The good side of the week is that the team and I have been strong all the time and had the pace for a top five, so we need to keep that style and try again.

Bastien Chesaux:
“We changed some things in the warm up but it didn’t works so we had to change it back for the race. In the race my best lap was the second one and I kept the gap to the rider in front of me. In the end the tire was warned down and whit no traction is hard not to lose the pase. But I’m very happy for the weekend and the mechanics; we are working in the right direction. ”

Jan Breedveld, chief mechanic:
“This was a good weekend and we made a lot of progress whit the setup on both Robbin and Bastien’s bikes. Bastien made a consistent race and that it´s good for his confidence. I’m sad about Robbin’s problem in the race but I’m looking forward to USA and hoping for a better result”

Resultat, Supersport VM, 6. afd. Kyalami (Sydafrika), 16. maj 2010
1. E. Laverty (IRL), Honda CBR600RR, 39m13,215s

UNFORTUNATE CRASH FOR ROBBIN HARMS IN MONZA

After two troubled days at the Monza track in Italy, the Team started Sunday morning with new and better results. The mechanics and Robbin worked hard all evening to find a good setup on his bike and in the Warm Up they knew that they were on to something right.

Bastien’s bike was also in good shape and in the warm the team wanted to test some different setups and take the electronics of to make him learn riding the bike and the 4-stroke engine better. The result was really good and Bastien felt comfortable on the bike at the end of the session.

In the race Bastien kept his speed all the way through and made some of his quickest times on the last laps. That landed him on a 15th position taking 1 point.

Robbin made once again one of his great starts and was in the first corner in 10th position. And when he crossed the starting line after the first lap he was in 8th. Sadly Pirro made a brake mistake and pushed Robbin out of the corner in to the gravel. And Robbin was out from a 7th position.

Robbin Harms:
Today after the Warm Up the team and I had found the setting for the bike and I was really looking forward to the race. When the lights went out I was on fire, the bike and I was working perfect together and I felt that everybody was slowing me down. I made some good overtakes but unfortunately Pirro made a desperate out braking manoeuvre on me into the Ascari. He left me nowhere to turn because he was struggling himself to turn which leaved me nowhere else to enter the gravel and crash! A shame, but still good to know that I am able to fight with the top riders when we find a good set up. The team worked hard to solve the problem this week and succeed during it.

Bastien Chesaux:
“It was a great race when you think of the overall weekend. I’m very happy for the team and their work. They did a god job making a god setup and bike for me.” I am looking forward to the next races and learn more from the bike without the electronic.

Jan Breedveld, chief mechanic:
“We solved a lot of problems in the Warm Up on Robbins bike and again before the race. That is a very positive thing. Bastian made a good race and he is beginning to learn his bike. We are now ready for the two oversees races, Kyalami in South Africa and Salt Lake City in USA ”

Next race are in Kyalami, South Africa the 16 of May.

ROBBIN I MONZA :

Men desværre forsøgte Pirro at udbremse mig.

A GREAT DAY FOR THE HARMS BENJAN RACING TEAM

After a troubled weekend the team managed to turn their luck and scored the best race finish yet this season. Both riders managed to get points. Robbin 10 with an amazing 6th position and Bastien collected points again in his first season of the World SuperSport Champion.

Robbin made a great start from his 10 place on the starting grid and was in the first corner up as 7th. He was battling for 5th place pushing the bike 100% every lap and fighting with factory team riders. After a half race with good speed and consistent lap times he finished the race as 6th. He is now ranking as high as 5th in the champion standing and is the best private team rider.

The other rider Bastien also made a good start and was close to the two riders in front of him. Most of the race he was fighting for 12th place, but Assen is a difficult track to overtake and the ended on at 14th position.

Robbin Harms:
“Today was good fun archiving the best result of the season. My bike was well to handle and I could push it to the limit. I missed the last 5% in the bike to take the 5th place. But overall I’m very happy with the team and my performance this weekend and I’m looking forward to the next race in Monza”

Bastien Chesaux:
“My setup was much better today and I had a good feeling. I still feel like I am learning and getting stronger on the 4 stroke bike. The team worked hard and well for me this weekend but I am disappointed with the race result. My goal for the next race is to keep improving my lap times trough out the weekend. ”

Jan Breedveld, chief mechanic:
“It was a great race for the team and the riders. We improved both riders setup of the bikes which paid off well in the race. We hope to continue the positive progress at Monza and so on. I’m happy for the team and the riders.”

Next race is at Monza in Italy the 9th of May.

ASSEN: WEEKEND DIDN'T START AS EXPECTED

The weekend didn’t start as expected. On Friday Robbin had to ride on his second bike in the free practice and in the first qualifying because of technical problems on his no. one bike. Bastien was struggling with the electronic on his bike but Saturday it was a lot better.

Unfortunately he crashed in the second free practice and had to change to his second bike. The qualification went well; he made a fine time and is starting 17th on the starting grid tomorrow, not as good as he hoped but whit a crash and technical problems in mind it can be difficult to find the rhythm.

The mechanics worked hard on Robbin’s no. one bike and the result was a strong bike with only some adjustment in the setup. In the qualification Robbin really pushed and made some good lap times which ended him on a 10th position on the starting grid.

Robbin Harms:
“I’m happy with today, qualifying time and the setup we have made on the bike. We are not that far away from the front so it looks good for the race.”

Bastien Chesaux:
“We had some problems with the electronics and as soon as we solved one problem another one came up. One of the problems was the traction and this track is very hard to ride without it. There is a new day tomorrow and I am hoping for a top 12.”

Jan Breedveld, chief mechanic:
“Both riders had problems with the electronic but it worked out fine. I think today was good but I am not completely satisfied. For tomorrow I am optimistic and with a bit of luck it will go well.”

TROUBLED WEEKEND FOR THE HARMS BENJAN RACING TEAM

The third race weekend in the World SuperSport Championship took place at the Valencia race track in Spain. The race didn’t go as expected due to many different technical problems, but the team have gained a lot of experience. Sunday morning the problems seemed to be solved and everybody was looking forward to a great race with Robbin Harms starting from a 10th position and Bastien Chesaux from a 17th position.

Robbin made an excellent start and was already in 6th position going into turn 1. Unfortunately, due to a technical problem he wasn’t able to push hard and lost some places during the race. Finishing in 9th, Robbin felt he could have done a lot better if there hadn’t been a problem with the bike.

Bastien also felt good about the start and was aiming for his second top 15 finish. But in the start he was held up by a crash in front of him and he lost some important time. He then pushed very hard to close the gap in front of him but due to electronically problems, a crash was not to be avoided.

Robbin Harms, 9th position:
“I’m not happy about the race but I kept my head cool and finished the race inside the points despite the troubles I had with handling the bike. I would like to thank the team for the good effort and the progress we made.”

Bastien Chesaux, DNF:
“I was happy to ride at Valencia, the spirit and the track is amazing. Sure I’m disappointed about the crash but that’s racing. I’m now looking forward to Assen which is a track I like and with the same spirit and a stable bike we will hopefully be in top 12.”

Jan Breedveld, chief mechanic:
“We have learned a lot this weekend and the team have worked hard to solve all the technical problems. Now we will look forward and concentrate on the next race.”

Next race will be in Assen the 25th of April.

ROBBIN 7th ALSO IN PORTIMAO

Today the Portimaõ racetrack was the place to be to see all the top riders in action. It has been a beautiful day with a lot of sun and not too much wind, with temperatures at 23 degrees.
For the warm up, a complete different setting was made for Robbin to solve the problems he had during yesterdays qualifying. It seemed to work very well for him and he made some good lap times without pushing very hard.

Bastien was unfortunate because there were some clutch problems which made him swap bikes during the warm up and lost a lot of time.
Robbin made a perfect start; he gained a lot of places and was quickly up in the top 10, starting from a 13 position on the grid. After some laps he pushed and passed Roccoli and Foret as they were fighting for 9th place. Robbin finished in 7th position, his 2nd top 10 finish this year and a 6th position overall.

Bastien didn’t have a good start and lost 2 places on the grid. He struggled to pass Cazzola and used all his efforts to get in front of her as she was holding him up. 3 laps later he made his move and immediately whitened the gap between himself and Cazzola. He pushed to close the gap there was up to Lundh but he couldn’t come close enough. Bastien finished in a well deserved 14th place. He scored his first 2 points, in his first SuperSport race.

Robbin Harms, 7th position:
“Today was a very positive day. We found a very good setup in the warm up which worked very well for the race. I had a good start and was directly with the group in front of me and I was staying easy with them, I passed two riders quickly and was able to fight for 7th place for a while. But my bike was not fast enough so I lost contact to the riders in front of me and was no longer able to follow them. I am very pleased with my 2nd 7th place finish, especially if we look at the whole weekend. I am looking forward to Valencia and to develop the bike even more. I want to say thank you to my team for all of their good work this weekend.”

Bastien Chesaux, 14th position:
“This morning was very bad. My clutch was not working and I lost a lot of time. Time that was needed to test some final setup.
My race start was not the best and I lost some places, I needed some laps to get my position back. Once I was in front of Cazzola again, I was able to get a good rhythm and put in some constant lap times. I was trying very hard to catch up with Lundh, a target for me the whole weekend, but in the end I came short and finished 14th. I am very pleased with scoring my first SuperSport points.”

Jan Breedveld, chief mechanic:
“I think this weekend we got a very good result with Robbin and Bastien as well. We struggled hard throughout the weekend, but I can say that overall we can be very happy for the results.
All I can say is that Robbin and Bastien gave the best what they had in them. I hope we can carry on this way and improve on the bikes where we are missing some speed.”

Next race will be in Valencia, Spain the 11th of April.

Robbin Harms i Supersport VM:

Portugal Saturday

The second round of the World SuperSport Championship is taking place this weekend at the Portimaõ track in Portugal. This circuit is considered as a very fast and breath taking track among all riders. The circuit has many ups and downs, blind corners and a very fast long straight.

Robbin Harms, 13th position, 1'46.947
“I am not that happy with the result today. This morning we made good improvements to the bike, but we were not able to carry the speed in the afternoon session. And I wasn’t able to push the bike as hard as I wished, the bike felt very difficult to handle. Now I am looking forward to the race tomorrow because it can only get better. ”

Bastien Chesaux, 16th position, 1’48.775
“Every time I go out on the bike, I learn step by step, which can be seen in my lap times. I have been on the same position throughout all the sessions, but the gap in front of me is getting smaller. In the final qualifying session, I couldn’t improve my best time from the morning, but managed to get a better time than the first qualifying which secured me a 4th row start for the Sunday race. I feel I have good rhythm for the race tomorrow and look forward to score my first world championship points in the World SuperSport class.”

Jan Breedveld, chief mechanic:
It was not an easy weekend, especially with Robbin we struggled to keep the line upwards. Robbin had a very good morning session and we were looking to get a good qualifying, unfortunate the opposite happened.
With Bastien, he surprised me in a positive way. He got better lap times in every session, worked very hard on himself and with his crew. I hope he can have a good race tomorrow and battle for some valuable points.

ROBBIN COLLECTS 9 POINTS
WITH 7th POSITION

In the first World SuperSport race of the year 2010, Robbin Harms and the Team Harms Benjan Racing managed to get a 7th position on his Honda CBR600RR and score the first 9 points of the season.

At the Australian track Phillip Island, Robbin started in second row as number 8 and after a good start he quickly turned it into a 4th position. The bike worked perfect for him. Unfortunately after only 3 laps Chaz Davies/Triumph, engine blew up. Oil was spilt on the track as well as on Robbin, who was right behind the Triumph. That meant for a red flag and a full restart, counting all 21 laps (km. 93.345).

In the restart Robbin pushed the bike to a 5th position but had some problems at the second lap and fell down to a 9th. After thirteen laps he again managed to climb up and ended on a 7th position, struggling with the front tire the whole race which slowed him down a second compared to the race before the restart.

Robbin, 7th:
I am really happy to finish this race and take some points with me back home to Europe. But at the same time I am really sorry about the front tire issue. I was fighting like hell not to lose the front which eventually dropped me down in the positions. In the first race I was really going without any sorts of problems, so it was a pity that we had to make a restart.
I would like to thank my team for all of their good work the whole weekend and I am looking forward to race again in Europe.

Jan, team owner/chief mechanic:
Overall it has been a good weekend. We started with some setup problems which we solved in the final qualifying. The race went fine besides the problems with the front tire. Robbin did well and I am happy for the result and the team. Now I am looking forward to the next race which will be in Portimaõ, Portugal the 26-28 of March.

After Phillip Island
1. E. Laverty
2. J. Lascorz 4.359
3. K. Sofuoglu 4.500
4. D. Salom 11.779
5. F. Foret 17.266
7. R. Harms 27.834

ROBBIN HARMS 7'ER
I PREMIERERACE

ROBBIN MANAGES TO GAIN 8TH PLACE ON STARTING GRID

During the final day of practice in Australia, the season first World SuperSport race, Harms Benjan team rider Robbin Harms scored an 8th place on the starting grid.

Robbin made it in to the top 10 in the free practice, but he was suffering from a bit of a suspension problem. He pushed hard and made the time 1.36.193 only 1.5 seconds after the fastest.

Qualifying
In the qualifying the mechanics managed to solve the suspension problem and Robbin was the third fastest the most of the day but with yesterdays times it landed him on 8th place in the total qualifying, 1.2 seconds faster than the day before. That secured him a perfect second row place on the starting grid.

Robbin, 8th, 1.34.999:
Today was an improvement in the right direction. I am getting faster for every practice and can feel that I have more speed in me. I am looking forward to the race tomorrow.

Jan, team owner/chief mechanic:
I am very happy with the result of the day and the fact that we are starting at second row in the first race of the season. The suspension teased us a lot this morning but in the qualifying we managed to find a good setup that worked for Robbin.

Robbin Harms i ny rolle

Test i næste uge
